Halo Cosplay 1 - Master Chief by the-pooper Halo Cosplay 1 - Master Chief by the-pooper
Hello folks!

I've had a few people asking me to upload photos of my Cosplay of the Master Chief from the video game Halo. So, here a few photos... Built the entire suit by myself. Wasn't easy at first... this is the Second on I made.

Well, Till next time. :)

------------------------------------

The entire suit was made by me, using cardstock, hot glue, fiberglass, bondo, and paint. Took me about a year to make it.

The AR is made by Link4044.

That suit is freaking awesome do you do commission work? I would love to make my own but being active duty military don't really have the time to commit. All the same I would love to have a suit for a convention Im taking leave to attend with my girlfriend and have been looking everywhere to find a place that does commission work Im not worried about price. If anyone has any info that could help, knows a person or knows a site Id appreciate it.

Do you have any plans one can be inspired of?
Blueprint of some sort you followed?

well, all the blueprints or working files is on the 405th.com.... I also viewed the action figures to help create the details of the suit. :)

Thanks! it took me forever to make it, but it's worth it. Nothing like seeing the expression of a pizza delivery guy seeing the Chief opening the door to pay for his pizza. =P

Thanks for the comment. :)

I used a method called "Pepakura"... you can google it to find out more about it. It's basically a program that takes 3D files and you can print them out on Cardstock, cut them out and clue together, then Fiber Glass it to hardened the suit (i know use casting resin).

I learned everything at the 405th.com where I'm a member at.

Thanks! It took me damn near a year to finish that suit... but it was worth it in the end. Nothing beats seeing the faces of people when you go thru a drive thru at a restuarant, or playing Guitar Hero in walmart as Master Chief! :) [link]

Yeah, it was very time consuming... but oh so worth it in the end. I want to Walmart in it as well as going thru a fastfood drive thru. Seeing peoples reactions to me is priceless... they loved it. :)

at first I didn't have the guts too, until I saw the smiles on little kids faces and the adults and they all wanted a picture. :) I don't do it often... just on rare occasions.

Thanks again. :)

Thanks, and oh yeah, slow and steady wins the race, as they say.

I have about a year to compelete this costume. Foolish I was, I started fiberglassing from the helmet, but it's not too bad. Nothing that can't be made better with some bondo.

I've got the shoulder pieces, (not the biceps, the EOD shoulders come separately) and the front of the body pepped already. So I gotta get on with it if I want to compelete it on schedule.

I'll upload some pictures of the project after it's ready to be showed off.. Right now it's still pretty much a disgrace.. xD

yeah, it took me a year to finish mine...

looking forward to seeing your end progress. and don't feel bad if it doesn't come out great at first... here's my first helmet... [link]

and my newest/current one... [link]

I learned from my mistakes and build a much better one in the process...

l believe yours will come out great. :)

I know the site, but I'm not a member.. The strapping tutorial by DogWizard there is just fantastic..

Did you use Pepakura? If so, I wonder where you got your files. I have all I need, but the greave, thigh and pelvis files are all horribly undetailed. Now, I wouldn't like to count on bondo detailing because this, Indeed, is my first project.. And I can't tell how it will turn out..

Dogwizard strapping tutorial works wonders! I used Adam's strapping method for mine...

And yes, I used Pepakura... A lot of my files I got from the 405th, since I am a member there. The Thighs and spacer diaper were modeled by crackhead09....

here's a link... [link]

and the best tip I can give you to achieve nice looking armor is to take your time. remember, it may or may not look great the first time around... what you see in my picture is my second suit... the first one was dog crap.

Hope this helps. Good luck bud!

Ok, looks great.

I really have only one bad thing to say about that suit. It's nicely sanded and carefully detailed. It's just that the undersuit lacks detail.

I'm making an EOD suit myself, right now I'm on the pepping/fiberglassing stage. I'm just looking at other peoples works to see how it's done.. (It's my first)

Thanks!

Yeah, when I made this suit, I really didn't have a clue as to how I was going to do the undersuit, and my Sewing skills are not up to par, and I don't think there was a real easy way to make one around the time I built my suit... so I just did like everyone else and wore simple black underneath.

I thought about getting an undersuit from Devan White, aka Bluerealm... if he's sealing some.

Good luck on your suit as well! Are you a member of the 405th by any chance?

Thanks for the comments!
